Intimate Image Removal
Last updated
Summary (not legally binding). If an intimate image or video of you, real or AI-generated, has been shared on Jurvo without your consent, or a Card links to or describes one, email [email protected] with the subject line "TAKE IT DOWN request". Tell us where the content is, sign the request, and state that it was shared without your consent. We confirm your request with a request number, remove the content within 48 hours of a valid request, look for identical copies, and tell you what we did.
1. What this process covers
Link to this sectionPuredLab LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company (registration no. 0008109479) (we, us or our) provides this process under the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act. It covers intimate visual depictions: images or videos that show a person's intimate parts or sexual activity, whether they are real or were created or altered with AI or other technology, and that were published on Jurvo without the consent of the person shown.
Jurvo does not let people upload images or videos today. Its content is text, so a request will usually concern a Card or a nickname that links to or describes such an image or video, or tells people where to find it. We handle those requests in the same way. A Card is a dilemma posted in the Jurvo app, and an Account is what a person has once they sign in; these terms have the meanings given in our Terms of Service, of which this process is part. For other kinds of content, see our Content Policy.
2. Who can make a request
Link to this sectionYou can make a request if you are:
- the person shown in the image or video; or
- someone authorized to act for that person, such as the parent or guardian of a minor, a lawyer, or another authorized representative.
You do not need a Jurvo Account.
3. How to make a request
Link to this sectionEmail [email protected] with the subject line "TAKE IT DOWN request", and include:
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name at the end of the email is enough as an electronic signature);
- an identification of the image, video, Card or nickname, with information reasonably sufficient for us to find it, such as the Card's exact text or share link, the nickname, and when you saw it;
- a brief statement that you have a good-faith belief that the intimate visual depiction was shared without the consent of the person shown, with any information that helps us confirm this; and
- information we can use to contact you, such as your email address or telephone number and, if you are acting for someone else, your relationship to them.
Please do not attach the intimate image or video itself.
4. What happens next
Link to this section- We confirm that we received your request, by email, and give you a request number.
- If the request is valid, we remove the content, or disable access to it, as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after we receive the request.
- We make reasonable efforts to find and remove identical copies on Jurvo.
- We tell you what we did. If we do not remove the content, we tell you why, and you can send us more information.
- If we cannot find the content, or the request is missing something we need, we ask you for it. The 48 hours run from when we receive a valid request.
- We may suspend or ban the Account that shared the content (Content Policy section 15).
- If the content shows someone under 18, we also report it to NCMEC (section 5).
5. Images of people under 18
Link to this sectionAn intimate image or video of someone under 18 is child sexual abuse material. If we find it on Jurvo, we remove it, preserve it as the law requires, report it to the CyberTipline of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and permanently ban the Account that shared it. You can also report it directly to the CyberTipline or by calling 1-800-843-5678, and use NCMEC's Take It Down service.
6. Other places to get help
Link to this section- StopNCII.org helps adults stop their intimate images from being shared on participating platforms.
- Take It Down, from NCMEC, helps remove intimate images taken when the person shown was under 18.
- If someone is threatening to share intimate images of you, contact your local police or the FBI at tips.fbi.gov.
- If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988.
